Fellow Punters,
I know that there is another thread on this, but I think all the RV punters need to know what has happened to me.
Was also a victim of the fake cops scam scenario but the scam has progressed massively in it's sophistication!
Got a call from 071 804 6625 saying the usual, rape charge and fake money story. Call got cut and got an SMS from that no. saying that the warrant of arrest has been signed. Blocked the no. And thought it was over.
Got another call today (1 week later), from 060 552 1878. Guy knew my name and the area that I lived and said he was from the local police station. After chatting to me for a while, I asked him to send me the details that he had!
He sent me a case no, warrant of arrest and a medical report all scanned and Watsapped it to me in pdf format! This is where the scam gets scary for us! At this point I was freaking out and called a cop friend and sent him all the docs, and he called the station and confirmed that all the docs were bullshit!
This is why I say that the scam is now getting worse because now they are upping the ante and you can see that these docs were created in a police station. That is, someone wrote this stuff out by hand, then stamped it with an official SAPS stamp and then took pics of it and then probably destroyed it. But the objective is to scare the fuck out of you, because you don't know how real or fake the docs are, cos we are not cops! The only way to tell is to call the police station and ask if this is real.
I have reported this to RV along with the girl who I think gave them my no. but they did nothing in the end. And to be honest, with the quality of girls that are on the site and with this experience, I will be saying goodbye to RV, hopefully permanently, because this shit is not worth putting up with. You will see that I have had a lot of poor experiences with WG of late, so it's def a sign and time for me retire from all this shit.
Please guys be aware of all this and if you decide to continue, I say as always...

Is there a chance you can upload the pictures of the documents, what was the date stamp on the report, these fukers could just be using photo shop and manipulating original docs

all of these fake cop issues can be avoided by using a burner phone
although some times its a spur of the moment decision and i even at times made calls from my regular cell
but i think the burner phone is the way to go

Maybe it's not the wg fault. I think it's this true caller app where they collecting info that's why when they call they are also not confident who they are speaking to.

Hi guys please watch out for 0748888491. Advertises as Panther. After calling got threats from VIP security services demanding money for services rendered, when I just phoned to enquire. Definite scam.

Another call today from 0842414900 claiming to be a 3rd party protection services. Same story, called an agency, never pitched up and they will be picking up the Escort and coming to arrest me.

Scammers call WG's on a daily basis promising WG's money (R1000) in exchange for the last 30 numbers on the call list. Had a few calls we're by they tell WG's about the scam and because some girls want quick cash they give out clients information. The other way is that they lie to WG's stating they sell Viagra or doing some sort of promotional work and just by referring clients numbers they get paid. WG's are always looking for quick cash and if you are not smart enough you will get caught up unknowingly. Some girls are even aware of the scam and go with the flow of these Scammers.
Some girls are smart and know a scam when they hear one.
We report all calls with numbers along with call recordings to RV immediately.
As a house owner we protect our clients information. However if the clients chooses to give WG's their personal details to stay in touch that's on the client himself as that's a major problem in the industry.
Tip : Always use a burner when punting.

How is this progressing?
When you put Captain Mashabas phone number in Truecaller, it does come out as correct. It even has a picture of him in SAPS uniform.
It may be possible that they have created a fake profile which is attached to True Caller?
Very worrying indeed. It is hard to keep 2 phones/ sims for many okes.
